Technical Officer - Renewable Energy

WE'RE HIRING! Technical Officer - Renewable Energy Melwa Renewable Energy is looking for an experienced and technically competent Technical Officer to support the installation, operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and technical supervision of renewable energy projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and support the installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of solar PV systems. Carry out site inspections and monitor project activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and technical specifications. Inspect PV modules, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, inverters, protection systems, earthing and related electrical equipment. Assist Engineers with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and technical investigations. Identify electrical and equipment-related faults and coordinate corrective actions. Supervise electricians, technicians, subcontractors and site activities. Maintain daily site records, maintenance records, inspection reports, testing records and other technical documentation. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for solar PV and BESS systems. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards and quality requirements. Coordinate with Engineers, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NVQ Level 4 or above in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology or a relevant technical field. Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in electrical installation, maintenance, solar PV, power generation or renewable energy projects. Experience in solar PV plant operation and maintenance, inverters, MV/LV systems, protection systems, or BESS will be a significant advantage. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDS, wiring diagrams and technical documentation. Good knowledge of electrical testing, troubleshooting and maintenance practices. Good computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel.. Strong communication, reporting, coordination and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work at project sites and travel across Sri Lanka.
