Reports To IT Manager / Head of IT Position Overview The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for protecting the organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and security breaches. The role includes implementing security solutions, monitoring systems, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. Key Responsibilities Monitor network traffic and security systems for suspicious activities. Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus systems, endpoint protection, and other security solutions. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (VAPT). Investigate security incidents and provide incident response support. Configure and manage SSL certificates, VPNs, and secure remote access systems. Maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation. Perform system security patching and updates. Ensure data backup and disaster recovery procedures are properly maintained. Monitor server, network, and cloud security environments. Conduct user awareness and cybersecurity training programs. Coordinate with vendors and third-party security providers. Prepare security reports and recommendations for management. Ensure compliance with company security standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field. Professional certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CCNA Security are an added advantage. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network security. Technical Skills Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and network security. Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and cloud security. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices. Familiarity with VAPT tools and security monitoring systems. Knowledge of email security, SSL certificates, and endpoint protection. Basic scripting knowledge is an added advantage. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good communication and reporting skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle security incidents. Teamwork and time management skills. Working Conditions May require after-office-hours support during security incidents or system maintenance. Ability to respond quickly to emergency security situations.
