Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using JobCeylon services, job search features, and AI tools.

01Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and JobCeylon (jobceylon.com), headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, browsing job vacancies, subscribing to job alerts, utilizing AI features, or posting vacancies, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of JobCeylon.

You must be at least 16 years of age (or the minimum legal working age in your jurisdiction) to use our candidate services, and at least 18 years of age to purchase subscriptions or post jobs as an employer.

02Description of Services

JobCeylon is an AI-powered job search and career empowerment platform built specifically for Sri Lanka. Our services include:

  • Job Discovery Catalog: Aggregated and directly posted job vacancies across private, banking, IT, and government sectors in Sri Lanka.
  • Telegram Job Alerts: Instant, automated job notifications delivered through our official bot (@Jobceylonbot) matched to candidate CV profiles and preferences.
  • AI Career Tools: Automated resume parsing, ATS match analysis, job-tailored cover letter drafts, and application tracking.
  • Direct Application: Facilitating candidate job applications via linked user email or external employer application portals.
  • Employer Services: Company profile verification, vacancy posting, candidate search, and interview invitation workflows.

03User Accounts & Security

To access personalized job alerts, AI tools, or employer features, you must register an account either via email and password or supported single sign-on (such as Google OAuth).

  • You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile up to date.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and preventing unauthorized access to your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at contact@jobceylon.com if you suspect any security breach or unauthorized use of your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false identities, inaccurate information, or violate these Terms.

04Job Seekers & CV Uploads

As a job seeker on JobCeylon:

  • CV Accuracy: You represent that all qualifications, work experience, educational history, contact details, and certifications included in your uploaded CV or profile are truthful and authentic.
  • Profile Visibility: When you enable “Open to offers” in your candidate profile, verified employers on JobCeylon may view your redacted profile and invite you to apply for matching vacancies. You may toggle this setting off at any time.
  • Application Dispatch: If you connect an SMTP mailbox to send applications directly from JobCeylon, you authorize the platform to dispatch your application email and resume to the employer’s published contact address on your explicit instruction.
  • No Guarantee of Employment: JobCeylon provides tools to discover vacancies and draft materials; we do not guarantee job interviews, offers, or employment.

05Employers & Vacancy Postings

Employers who post vacancies or source talent on JobCeylon agree to the following standards:

  • Legitimate Vacancies: All postings must represent bona fide, currently open employment or internship opportunities. Advertisements for multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid schemes, or unsolicited commercial offers are strictly forbidden.
  • No Fees to Candidates: Employers must not charge applicants any fees for application, interview, registration, processing, or background verification.
  • Equal Opportunity: Vacancies must comply with Sri Lankan labor laws and must not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, disability, or marital status unless permitted by statutory requirements.
  • Verification & Moderation: All employer postings undergo admin moderation and verification. We reserve the unconditional right to reject, edit, or remove any listing that breaches our guidelines.

06AI Tools & Generated Content

Our platform utilizes artificial intelligence and natural language processing models to extract information from CVs, calculate match scores against job descriptions, and generate draft cover letters.

  • AI-generated content is provided for informational and drafting assistance only.
  • AI output may occasionally contain inaccuracies or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, proofreading, and editing any cover letter, resume summary, or application text before submitting it to an employer.
  • We do not make automated legal or hiring decisions about you; all employment choices rest solely with hiring companies.

07Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds

JobCeylon offers a complimentary Free tier as well as optional Premium subscription plans that provide elevated quotas for Telegram alerts, AI cover letters, and match evaluations.

  • Pricing & Currency: Premium plans are billed in United States Dollars (USD) or Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) as indicated at checkout. All payments are securely processed through PayPal or authorized gateways.
  • Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis depending on your selected plan. You can cancel your subscription at any time via your Billing settings.
  • Cancellations: Upon cancellation, your Premium benefits will remain active until the end of your current paid billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.
  • Refund Policy: Because digital AI quotas are made accessible immediately upon payment, fees are generally non-refundable. If you experienced a billing error or technical defect preventing access to paid features, contact contact@jobceylon.com within 7 days of the charge for review.

08Acceptable Use & Prohibitions

When using JobCeylon, you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

  • Using automated scrapers, spiders, robots, or crawling software to extract job listings, candidate information, or site assets without express written consent.
  • Interfering with, disrupting, or imposing an unreasonable load on the platform’s servers, networks, or API infrastructure.
  • Attempting to bypass security controls, decrypt passwords, probe vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorized access to administrative portals.
  • Posting defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, harassing, or unlawful content.
  • Transmitting unsolicited advertising, spam emails, chain messages, or malicious code.

09Intellectual Property Rights

The JobCeylon name, domain, logos, UI designs, code, stylesheets, trademarks, and branding are the exclusive property of JobCeylon and are protected by applicable intellectual property and copyright laws.

You retain full ownership of the CVs, documents, and profile materials you upload. By submitting content to the platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and display that content solely as necessary to provide the services you have requested (such as CV parsing and job matching).

10Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The services, job listings, and content on JobCeylon are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

  • We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or free from viruses.
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or completeness of job postings published by third-party employers or aggregated from public vacancy sources.
  • In no event shall JobCeylon, its directors, employees, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, employment opportunities, or goodwill arising out of your access to or inability to use the platform.

11Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to your use of JobCeylon shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

12Changes to Terms & Contact

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms at any time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory developments. When changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be communicated via site notice or email to registered users.
